Service to others and a global concern for social justice are real life, physical ways that we strive to show the love of Christ to others in our community and around the world.  Jesus modeled a life of compassion and service to the poor and outcasts of society that we believe we must imitate if we are to be his disciples.

 4th Wednesday

Do you need some help making the groceries last until the end of the month?  Or are you just looking for a chance to fellowship around a free meal?  You can join us for our 4th Wednesday meal and receive a box of groceries to take home.

Kansas City Urban Youth Center

We are supporters of the Kansas City Urban Youth Center.  The KCUYC is working to offer Christian hope, community, and wholeness to teens in Kansas City's Urban Core.  Mentors work with teens to help them improve in school and learn important skills while  exhibiting a Christian lifestyle.  You can learn more about the Kansas City Urban Youth Center at this link:

 Nazarene Compassionate Ministries

One of the advantages of  being a part of a global denomination, like the Church of the Nazarene, is that our local church gets to help support the efforts of service and social justice around the world through the money we give to support our denomination.  You can find out more about ways that the Church of the Nazarene is serving the poor and marginalized in our world at the website for Nazarene Compassionate MInistries.

If you would like to learn more about the role of the Church in areas of social justice, the link below will take you to a paper that was written by Pastor Young while he was in seminary.  This paper explores the call for social justice in Jesus' ministry and how the Church should be involved in issues of social justice as a continuation of Jesus' ministry.
